2003 Ford Mustang Whining noise

I just discovered a whining noise coming from my car yesterday. It will whine at idle and when I slow down to make a stop, but not when I'm driving. I had the A/C on the whole time. So I tired to pinpoint where the noise was coming from and to my discovery it will only make it when the A/C is turned on, quits when its turned off. Any suggestions as to what might be the cause of the whining? Thanks in advance.

Do you have a cold air intake system on it? If so then you just have to deal with it. For some reason the A/C hose rests against the intake tube and makes like a wistle or whinning noise. Hope this helps.

Thanks racefan966 for replying to my question. I do have a CAI system, but that's not the problem. Wish it was that simple. I had my mechanic check it out and it turns out that my A/C compressor and clutch bearing is going out. Just my luck. So, I got my answer. For the price of $600. Yay me! :P
