Has 74000 miles on it 4.6 v8. Car will start but runs 3 seconds then quites. Turn to off position then turn to on position and you can hear the fuel pump run, and shut off. Start the car and runs for two seconds and quits, has half tank of gas. Run fine yesterday. Started today. Happend all at once. V SET THERE AND DO THIS ALL DAY LONG.

Your best bet is to have your fuel pump checked out, or check it yourself. Make sure that it is pressurized, and that the module is in working order. If that checks out alright, try giving the car gas and continuous pumping of the throttle. If the car still dies, check the fuel injectors. My sneaking suspicion points to a problem in your fuel system. Let me know.
