1996 Ford Mustang oil pressure gauge/lifter

My 6 cyl engine on my 1996 ford mustang. Has a lifter knocking plus my oil pressure gauge jumps up and down all the time, I don't burn oil, car seems to have lost some power now. Need to know what could be causing this?

Hi there,

The lifters are the first thing that will fail if you have a lack of pressure & flow. With the erratic reading, you may have a faulty pressure relief valve. I would get the pressure tested with master gauge first, just to see what is going in.
