Transmission problem
1993 Ford Mustang 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I am currently looking at purchasing a 93 Mustang. The tranny is bad, or so I am told. I have a early to mid 80's Ranger with the same engine and an automatic transmission. Is this swap possible? Or feasible for that matter?

I don't have specs on the transmissions. However you don't need to swap bellhousing you can put the bell housing from the mustang on the other trans. My only thing would be to measuring. I would measure from where it attaches to the bell housing to the trans mounts and then to the shifter to make sure the shifter and trans mount are in the same spots. Also check spline count where the drive line connects. If they are different then check with a local parts store to see if there is a conversion joint available so you can use the yoke from the ranger if needed.
