1989 Ford Mondeo 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Manual 73.000 miles

have just got this old ford mondeo it has an engine out of another mondeo fitted recently but will not start without pressing the accelarator and has a lot of blue smoke out of the exhaust when idling

Has a lot of blue smoke out of the exhaust when idling

Its an indication of oil burning in the cylinders could be valves, rings and cylinder wear problem as for the starting problem check and test the idle air control valve /ISC and throttle position sensor, coolant temperature sensor and mass airflow-to include a fuel pressure test.
