And eventually some explanation. Car has a power failure in dashboard, engine and brake dashboard lights (rectangular) connector (contacts positions 2 and 3) suffered a shortcircuit when the oil pressure sensor (apparently defective) was connected to chassis as to verify the corresponding dashboard light. Then the wire (from the oil sensor) overheated, and the copper contact at dashboard connector went fused. The oil sensor supposedly closes /sends the ground to the dashboard when signaling a low pressure, so what is wrong? Some wiring harness?

The dash has a printed circuit borad and the copper in it probably fried. You'll need another but first pull the dash out and check. It's only where the gauges are that needs to be pulled and that's held in by 4-6 screws. You might contact mike here and ask if the 3 day manuals available also include the vintage models where yours would be.
