Poor acceleration and jerking

I have a 2006 ford focus with 21000 miles I think its a four cylender. I was going to the store last night when the was trying to accelerate the I would hear the engine reve but the car would not accelerate and then it would sound like it moved out of gear and then jerk forward. Now this morining my husband said there is a knocking sound from under the hood.

My ford focus has a shift solenoid problem. It revs and won't shift to the next gear then jerks. So, I 've had the shift solenoid replaced at 87,000 miles and now at 92,000 miles it did it again. It's at the repair shop as we speak.
