2005 Ford Focus rear drums

Can anyone tell me how to get the rear drum off so I can change the shoes?
i took the axle nut off and I still cant get the drum off it is loose but wont come off

If you can access the adjusting slot in the backing plate, try taking some adjustment out so that there is more room between the drum and shoe, sounds like the shoe is hanging up on the wear lip in the drum
