2003 Ford Focus 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 60k miles

I backed out of my driveway just fine put it in first and my tires no longer spin. I tried placing back into reverse and nothing. There has been a odor of burnt oil/rubber coming from the car last couple of days. Not sure if it's my clutch or a belt. Please help
thanks,

OK I would say it is either a clutch when out or you broke a front axle shaft or CV axle what ever you want to call it. So I would check the axles first as they are out in the open under the car. Jack the car up so the front wheels are in the air and put the car in gear with the e-brake set and rear wheels blocked. Try to turn the front wheels by hand with it not running. Let me know what you find.

I jacked the car and checked all I could underneath. The tires spin freely and independently however, they were hard to get turning, once spinning they were not a problem. Still no leaking fluids on the snow.

OK so did you do this in gear or in nuetral? Did you check the front drive shafts to see if they were turning or not? Try this only jacking up one wheel at a time too.
