digital fuel gauge says empty when its full, I took the car for a drive and parked it up and the petrol gauge said "half".
When going back to the car, I put my shoping in the boot and started the car up to see the petrol light on and the gauge flashing,
i then went to the nearest petrol station and put £20 of petrol in which tok the car upto full, but I then started the car and the petrol light was and still is on and the gauge is flashing as to say perol low but in fact it is full!
any one have any ideas what this could be?The car is a ford fiesta 2004 1.4 lx zetex

You either have a fuel leak ! Or a faulty fuel level sender !

It has sorted its self out now, took it for a spin and the fuel light whent off and it went back upto full, I had a mechanic take a look @ it and he said it was a loose connection on the sender that has sorted its self out.
