2003 Ford F350 transmission temp gauge hot-od light on shif

I have an 03 F350 diesel 6 liter and the trans. Temp gauge is running hot. The OD light on shifter is also blinking

Hi voltech,

Thank you for the dionation.

An error has been detected by the transmission control module and trouble codes have been recorded in the control unit.

Get a scan done to retrieve the trouble code and let me know the exact trouble code so I can get the necessary information.

I would like to have the VIN to confirm the engine and transmission type.

Do you think it could be a connection. The transmission is n ot ruuning hot and is shifting normal just the gauge shows hot

They should be related. If the PCM/TCM thinks that something is wrong, it would indicate by the OD light blinking. As the fluid temp is indicated as high, the computer would receive the signal, correct or otherwise and act accordingly.

Get a scan done first.
