I have a 2002 F-350 Super Duty 4x4 SWB 7.3L PowerStroke with approximately 185,000mi. Every once and awhile while you are drivin' it will seem to lose electrical power and die for about a 1/2 sec then will come back to life and keep going, also on occasion when you come to a stop it will die, but when you put it in nuetral hit the key it refires no problem(That has happened only 3 times). I have already changed the fuel/water seperator. Is there another fuel filter that I don't know about that I need to change? Just 2 days ago while sittin' with it idlin' it seemed to keep losing electrical power the guages and am/fm kept going off and on for approx. 10 to 15 secs. And you could hear the relays clickin' which tells me it was losin' power then went back to normal. It has 2 new batteries. Is the computer brain takin' a crap on me or does it sound like I have a dead short in it somewhere and if so how would I go about trackin' it down? Thanks for your help.

The very first thing I would check is for clean and tight connections at the battery cables. Check both ends, ground etc. Also check the plug going into the alternator.

If nothing found,

There may be two problems happening. The gauge failure may the cluster itself going bad. From what I understand, the cam sensor is fairly common on these and ford has issued a new part for it. Was under recall I think.
