Engine Performance problem
2000 Ford F350 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 98,178 miles

I tried to get my truck smogged and the codes P0171 & P0174 came, I know its a system to lean in bank 1 & 2. I changed my fuel filter and I noticed that there was a big hole on the bottom of my air intake hose, would that cause those codes to come up. Thanks in advance.

Is it a man made hole or you mean a busted hole? It could be where a sensor should be such as the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor. If it is missing that would definitely cause these issues.

Its not man made nor was there a sensor there, I think its just wear and tear plus some heat, I put a new one on and now I bought some mass air flow sensor cleaner, but I don't know where its at.
