Steering problem
1999 Ford F350 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 19K miles

1999 ford f series 350? (Stripped chassis - 6.8L v10) on HRC 32ft motor home. Turn signal would not cancel - removed multi switch assy and noticed the cancel cam is about 3/8" too high (toward the steering wheel) so does not make contact with the cancel nib. The cancel cam is intact and secure and not damaged or worn (19k miles on motor home) - visual inspection shows that the cam and also the 'ring' where the elec makes contact, has moved up in reference to the 'pot metal' housing where the electrical contacts are mounted- if looks like to fix - the entire clockspring assy and cancel cam - needs to move down about 3/8" - my question is I suppose - is there adjustment at the steering wheel end? I notice that I can move the cam which seems to be attached to the 'clockspring' (slip ring) down a little on the shaft - 1/16" to 1/8"- by pulling down on the cancel cam with my fingers - but it 'springs' back up - soooo should I remove the steering wheel?
