I have a 1998 Ford F250 3/4 ton 2WD V8 4.6L 254,586 miles.
I have replaced he battery, alternator, and battery cables as well as the connector for the alternator. I have tested the VDC's on the battery they show 12.5-12.8 while engine is off. While the engine is on the VDC's dropped to 12.3-12.1. All the wires leading to the alternater tested good. Bypassed the fuse, but the VDC's on the battery did not increase.
All the fuses have been checked and are okay.
What can it be I am puzzled.

The wires are to be tested while the truck is running and disconnected from the alternator. I check all three the connectors at the altenator as well as the wire harness. : :|

I tested the results and the orange/light blue is 12v.
However the green/ red was under 1.0v, and the white/black wire was 0v. This is with the new pig tail. Would there be a problem if the colors do not match but the connecters end matches up. I will allatch the old connector and see if I get the reading you suggested. :

Hey thanks, I don't think I would have found those missing fuses if you didn't suggest fuse # 19. I bought this truck not knowing there was this problem. Thank you for all your help it is much appreciated. The voltage reading jumped to 14.0v with light on high and fan on high it jumped to 13.6v
Thank you again :) :D :P
