2005 Ford F-250 150000 miles

My company had starter replaced on Saturday. I drove it for 300 miles on Sunday. Hooked up towing trailer, stopped and filled up with diesel, pulled out of service station and didn't make it 4 blocks before massive, and I do mean MASSIVE amounts of white smoke begins to billow out of exhaust. It's 3 a.M, co. Mechanic says walk back to service station and purchase oil. Not gonna happen.I'm female, it's 3 a.M. Why are they telling me to put oil in it anyway? What is up with that?
Tells me to proceed to next safe location and wait there. Temp gauge jumps to HOT @ 15mph, still billowing white smoke like the old days mosquite fogging trucks. While I slowly travel another mile to safety. A guy arrives, says no oil or transmission fluid levels are registering. He proceeds to drive it another 3 miles and decides that it needs to be parked. It is still sitting where we left it, and no one has been out there as staff is busy. They are claiming that I put unleaded, not diesel in the tank. I am furious, and have fuel receipt, but they don't seem to want to hear me. HELP!

BTW. May I add that I have become the butt of many jokes today, while still. NO ONE has been out there to check out this truck? I'm just a single mom taking on extra jobs to help make ends meet. But I am by no means a blithering idiot that doesn't know the difference between diesel and gas! I even went back later today with a brand new gas can and filled it up with diesel from the same pump. In the off chance that there is something wrong with the diesel itself. I am still puzzled about the request to add oil when they didn't even ask me to check the oil level to see what it was. Also, they requested that I open the radiator and check that level, and although under the hood was not hot, and there was no smoke/steam. It was dark, and I couldn't even find the radiator!
I say that they are jumping to conclusions, and that it was just a coincident that everything happened right after I fueled up.
Any thoughts out there? I am so furious right now that I can't see straight! I am wondering if I am going to be used as someone's scapegoat. Someone that may not be doing THEIR job of keeping these trucks regular maintenance up?
