2004 Ford F-250 2004 F-250 ignition assembly question

Thank goodness they didn't steal the truck, but they sure did rip out the ignition assembly. I've already bought a new assembly and had it rekeyed to my key, i have the 3 pieces 3c610, 3e700, and 3e717 but don't know how they all fit back together. I can get the piece with the teeth (3e717) in and get it to turn to the on position and radio/lights work, but when i try to incorporate the plastic retainer and metal piece (3c610 and 3e700, respectively) I cannot get the assembly back in.

Here's a little trick. First get the cog into place and test it with a flat blade screw driver to make sure it is aligned correctly. Then insert the safety plate and the retainer. Turn the cog to line up to the plate. It may be forward of the ignition postition. If so, let it rest as close to the plate alignment as possible. Position the key, partially into the hole to check which way it will need to be rotated. Place the ignition switch all the way in and work it back and forth applying light pressure inward. The ignition shaft pin is rounded slightly so that it will eventually work it's way into the cog. If you haven't done it before, it may take several attempts. Don't get to frustrated, it will eventually go in. If you need anything else, feel free to ask.
