2000 Ford F-250 7.3L, 124,000 miles

I live in a very cold area and have been jump start truck in the morning. I have been plugging in block heater. My batteries are going bad. What type of batteries should I replace with? Also, my overhead console does not work. Any suggestions on what to check?

Have the batteries checked at advance auto. It's a free service. If there bad replace with the same group number but with more cca's (cold cranking amps). Also by overhead console, I assume you mean the light, correct?
If that's the case it's probably a blown bulb.
