Can you tell me how to replace the actuator rod for the ignition on a 1989 ford f250 with tilt wheel?

No the rod usually don't go bad it usually the steering key rack unit. These are not easy to replace I will not lie to you. You need to totally disassemble the steering column to do this. If you still want to do this your self let me know I will try to get you pics an such. It takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to do let me know what you want to do.

Do you have a repair manual? Can you get one from the library? You will need to take the steering wheel off and the turn signal switch will need to be moved out of the way and the shift collar will need to be removed and then you are into the heart of where you need to be. If you do not have or can't get a repair manual then I will get mine down and I will scan and e-mail the procedure to you. Let me know.
