I have a 1978 Ford F-250. Last october I replaced the almost new (18 month) battery, as the first had gone bad. Now, 4 months later the battery charger is telling me that this 3rd battery has 'gone bad'.

The truck sits quite a bit as I use it on and off around the farm. Any thoughts as to why I am going through batteries so fast? Also, is there any thing that I can do with these old batteries that I am collecting or are they done?

HI:
Have you had the alt and voltage regulator checked? It could be over or under charging causing the battery to go bad.

Also, most parts stores will take the old batteries.

Let me know.

Bob,
Let me know what you find. Something tells me there is a problem with the regulator.
