I have a 1996 ford f150, 302, auto transmittion, with about 120,000 miles on it, sometimes ill be driving along and the truck will just die, it has started back up by its self a couple of times, and other times I have had to crank it 4 or 5 time before it would start. Also sometimes I will have to crank it several time for it to start in the first place. This doesn't happen everytime but it is getting for frequent. I have tried an ingnition moduale and that didnt work, any ideas?

Thank You very much for your time

I belive your fuel pump is on its last leg! Try a fuel pressure test at the time the truck dies. How long does the pump run when the key is turned to the on position before it stops?

I replaced the pickup assembly in the distributor and that seems to have fixed the problem, but if it starts happing again I will keep that in mind.

Thank You for you time
