I am a novice car mechanic. My truck is a 2003 F150, 6cyl, with a manual transmission. I have a knocking, or rattling noise in my clutch or the transmission. I dont know how to check the transmission fluid. I was also wondering if my throw out bearing could be bad. Please help me.

It could be the throw out or pilot bearing. The oil fill plug ont heside of the trans is where you check the fluid.Oil should be right at the bottom of the plug.

If you have the G5M trans (should be a tag on trans to ID it) then it uses Motorcraft SAE 75w90 gear oil.All other trans for that truck use Mercon R ATF.
