You using a cheap ignition coil?

Make sure you go with genuine motorcraft.

Is there moisture on the coil? Is it near any coolant hoses or areas water can get at?

Could also be that the spark isnt getting to the plug and not properly grounding causing excessive voltage in the coil and it to burn out.

Is it coil on plug, dis or distributed?
