My oil pressure light came on, the oil pressure dropped and my engine died while I was driving. My truck has been in a body repair shop for the last 3 months after an accident. Would it sitting that long cause the oil pump to quit? I had the oil pump replaced 2 years ago.

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge, if normal replace the oil pressure switch. If abnormal could mean oil pump and engine bearing.

It don't have to be running just crank over the engine 10secs and read off the gauge-it should give a reading and then comeback with it-
