I have a 1999 Ford F-150 4.6. I recently changed the plugs and wires and changed the oil and oil filter along with the other. After making these changes I noticed that after my truck warms up it starts making a knocking noise and sometimes it only does it when it is in park and idling. Prior to changing the plugs, wires, oil, and oil filter it did not make this noise. Also note that I change my oil and oil filter every 3,000 miles. What do you think could be the problem and what would be the most cost efficient way to fix it?

Thanks

Hi there,

The first thing to do is to identify what the knock is. So I would be checking the engine oil pressure with a master gauge, this will give a true indication as to the engine oil pressure. When this is known, then we can start to look a bit further into this problem.
