Transmission problem

I am doin a transmission flush on my f-150, but i keep getting the run around on what type of fluid the manual transmission takes i've heard mercon atf fluid? I,ve also heard gear oil. Would you please help me out and tell me the typ and qty i'm gonna need thank you.
