My truck was vandalized in oct of 2007. Bleach was reported in the fuel system and my engine kept stalling out.. It turned over just fine when i took it into the shop but the shop said my motor was seized.. what kind of effects would bleach have on your cylinders and pistons and would it be possible to have the bleach contaminated fuel get past my rings and go into my oil.. the motor was ripped down and severe rust and scaring of my pistons and cylinders where found. would the bleach/fuel coming from my injectors wash the oil from my cylinder walls causing the scoring and seizing?

Hi there,

I have heard of this before, but never seen it first hand. I suggest you talk to a chemist as i feel it is the chemical reaction between the compounds of the bleach and hydrocarbons in the fuel and oil, combined with the very high internal engine temps.
