Hi Ya

Im new to the forum and Im hoping you can help me with this problem. I live in a remote situation and am low on break fluid with a small leak on a rear wheel. I have isolated the problem area but have to go into town 55 miles away. The master cylinder is about one third full with no break fluid available. What problems will I encounter if I put in ATF in the system. Do you have other suggestions.
I recieve my E-mails by sat dish.

Thanks in advance
Finlay

Hi there,

If you add trans fluid to the brake system it will cause a great deal of damage as it will cause all the seals to react and you will have a huge repair bill, if the leak is only minor, and depending on the amount of breaking you have to do I would drive in and get the repair done or get the brake fluid, as for an alternative, I would be not wanting to add anything, do you not have access to any old cars that you may be able to draw off some brake fluid? Old fluid would be better than nothing.
