1994 Ford F-150 transmission disengages from engine

While driving the engine will disengage from the transmission. Usually when slowing and then stepping on the gas the truck will act like I shifted it into neutral. It will also not shift at the correct rpms. This does not happen all the time. I can use it for 30 miles perfect and all of a sudden problems. I have had it at a shop many times over the past 5 years. They have tried everything except change the trans because they feel the trans is fine.

It is frustrating because there seems to be no answer. HELP

I have the same truck and exact problem. It is intermitant yet more frequent if slightly low on fluid.
If you find a cure I would be most happy to here.
I found that removing the negative battery cable for a few minutes will give me more miles between issues. Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I will post my findings if I am lucky enough to fix this problem. I replaced the battery and still have the same problem.
