93 ford f150 173000 mileage. When I start to take off it shifts into second gear really early and jerks a little bit but after that it changes gears just great but what could it be? And what would it take to fix it?

Does it do it all of the time or only first time of the day? Also, let me know if the check engine light has been on.

If it does that in first gear (shift quick into 2nd) have you tried a trans service? Also, let me know if the check engine light is on.
