1991 Ford F-150 Shortage

The Other day my Truck had a short that caused it to die out I changed out the Fender mounted Solenoid and now when I hook the battery cables back up it will automatically try and turn its slef over With no keys in the ignition and the ignition in the off position what would cause this to happen I am at a loss as to what to do

Get a new starter solenoid, its the thing mounted in the fender has two battery cables on it and a small wire running off of it.

Make sure battery is fully charged all starter grounds are good and the battery cables are clean and tight or you could weld the new one shut.
