We have replaced the ignition acuator because it was broken. But we still can not start the vehicle. When the key is turned to the on position, it does unlock the steering wheel, but will not start the vehicle. We have also replaced the ignition tumbler. It's not springing back like it would when you start the vehicle and none of the dash lights come on. The battery is good. The headlights and brake lights work. Help!

Are you sure the linkage between the tumbler and the switch is attached?

Thanks for the reply! Today we replaced the ignition switch. The switch was burnt inside and not allowing the arm to spring back when starting. The only problem now is that it is springing back but there is still no power to start the truck and the indicator lights are still not coming on. Sort of like it is dead but the battery is good.

Under the hood, there is a power distribution box. Check the main fuses in it to see if any are burnt.

I dont think there is a power distribution box in a 91 Ford. The only thing we see is like at different parts of the truck there are relays and wires. I did find the starter relay, should I check that?

If the starter itself wasn't working, I would say yes. But you mentioned that nothing is coming on as far as the lights on the dash. Closely inspect the wires to the switch. It's been awhile since I worked on a 91, but check to make sure they are not burnt, and check to see if there are any fuseable links burnt. If I remember correctly, there is a main power supply to the switch. See if thre is power getting to it.
