Sometimes my truck shifts fine and other days it shifts hard. Sometimes changes smooth to hard or hard to smooth on the same day. Fluid level is good. Fluid looks clean, no smell. I try and stop, put in neutral, then back in drive, most times no help. She's an oldie but it's paid for. Just want it to last a while longer without major dollar repairs. Got any ideas? Thanks guys. Pete

Good question. I bartered for this truck past summer and have no idea when the tranny was serviced or filter changed. Possible fix?

It could help if the filter is partially plugged.

Thanks guys. I'll start with a filter and fluid change and see how it goes. Real nice job on the site here. I worked on commercial jet aircraft for 30 years but not up on cars and trucks much. God bless. Pete

Well, I had Ford flush the tranny and change the filter, and it's better. Once in a while still shifts hard, but much better. Will live with it for now. Still have other issues to take care of on the old girl. Thanks for the help. Pete
