1989 Ford F-150 starting

My truck will start at first but if I shut it off after a short drive it wont start it will barely turn one rotation but it will jump start or it may turn over later after it cools down.

Your starter may be loosing it's effectiveness. Refusing to turn the engine over when it's hot. (The exhaust runs right by it)
