1989 Ford F-150 locked gears

While changing ignition switch on the tilt column. I unbolted the column and now my gears are stuck locked in park and reverse, any idea what went wrong.

That is a good one. I'm sitting here trying to picture what could have happened. The only thing that comes to mind is that maybe a bolt wasn't fully tightened and something is hitting. How much of the column did you remove?

Ijust lowerd the column to reach the ignition switch and change it.

You have to retrace your work. Something had to be put on a bind.
