My 96 ford explorer 8 cylinder 2 wheel drive with about 140,000 miles makes a horible squeeking noise it has been squeeking for about 4 months now but it seems to have gotten worse, one mechanic said it was my tire rod, one sid it was my a frame bushings, and another said it was my struts. the squeek are made worse by turning the wheel left or right and and when I hit a bump small or big and it is only on the front driver side. What is it?

Your truck has shocks not struts, so we can rule that out, But control arm bushings, and ball joints will make sqeaking noises...Upper control arm bushings are a problem on some models...Ford uses a sealed ball joint when the grease is gone, you must replace it! Go to a good front end shop and get it checked, or to Ford!
