2004 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My ford explorer 2004 model acceleration not posible when car is in nutrel gear. Its reach up to 1100 RPM only. But when put gear on D acceleration is ok. Pls can you tell me what is the problem

I'm not sure I understand. In neutral, the car shouldn't accellerate. Can you explaine?

Yes sir,
you are right, in nutral car shouldn't accelerate. It will reach only up to 1100 RPM

If it won't rev in neutral but does in drive, that is a tough one. Has the check engine light come on? The only thing I can think of is the throttle position sensor, and that should set a check engine light.
