2003 Ford Explorer Grinding in the rear

My ABS light came on recently for afew days and went off. There is a serious grinding noise from the rear passenger side. Could this be the rotars or possibly the wheel bearings. The grinding is intermittent. About every couple of miles it will grind. Sounds horrible so I have parked it.

If the abs light is onhave the vehicle scanned to determine what code is setting. Also raise the back wheels off the ground on suitable jack stands of lift. Shake both rear wheels up and down to see if you feel any play in either wheel.
