I often can't move gear shift when first starting

My brake Lights are intermittent. I often can't move gear shift when first starting because brake is not engaging brake lights.

IT is located at the top of the brake pedal. Check to see if it is loose or out of adjustment before replacing it. As far as replacement, there is only one bolt that holds it on. Disconnect the wiring plug and unbolt and replace it. It's an easy job, just a tight fit.
