Brakes problem
2003 Ford Explorer V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

When I apply the brakes at low speeds, there will be a power surge just before the car stops that causes the car to lunge forward. Of course, the Ford agency is clueless.

Does the vehicle rev up or does it just lunge forward like the brakes momentarly quit?

It's as if the brakes don't work for a few second, and the car moves forward, then the brakes kick in again.

I would suspect bad ball joints causing the vehicle to surge forward when the vehicle stops.
