When starting vehicle anytime throughout the day for the first time, vehicle hestitaes to start. Vehicle starts after 2 or 3 times after turning the igintion key. Could this be the fuel pump not pumping enough gas?

It's possible, but I would replace the fuel filter first, as it might be clogged. This may be a cheap fix for you.

When you turn key to run -do you hear the fuel pump come On if so check the fuel pressure to confirm if its within specificatons also check the operation of the FPR-Also test the coolant temperature sensor-its job is to tell the computer to adjust fuel during initial start up-before the oxygen sensors takes over in the closed loop mode-
