I have had this trouble intermittently --the first two times it was right after refueling (next day) and it fixed itself in one or two stretches of steady driving. This time it continues and is even causing the battery to die from restarting.
What it does is when I go to start it, it will start then die unless I am pressing on the gas peddle. In order to go anywhere, I have to gas it in P and quickly get it into R or D before the gas stops getting to it. Sometimes it takes 2 or more tries then I start driving and it is fine until I hit another idle. As I said, once I got on a steady stretch for 2 or 3 miles with out a stop it seemed to clear itself so I thought it was just the gas I was buying. This third time, it was 5 days after a fillup and I cannot seem to get it to clear. The battery eventually gave out from starting/dying/restarting, etc. When we jumped it it started right up and even kept restarting for a 2 mile trip home in spurts.
My research has shown that one option might be the reset switch for the inertia fuel shutoff which would be great but I"m afraid that that would have completely stopped the gas and that it will be a more expensive prob. I would like to know where this switch is in my car. I looked under the dash on the passenger side like I read somewhere but couldn't identify it. I am wondering what else you think it could be.

Inertia switch
if off or tripped engine will not starter at all
it sounds as you have a bad idle air control valve
check ,clean and or replace it
also common failure is the intake manifold gasket
causing a vacuum leak
good luck

need manual CHECK IT @
