Air Conditioning problem
2002 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Automatic

My a/c quit blowing cold yesterday. I figured it was freon so I added it and it's still blowing hot air. I checked the relay for the a/c clutch and the fuses and everything is still good there. What is the next point of interest to solve this problem? HELP please.I need the a/c working asap!

If the freon is fully charged and the compressor isn't engaging, I need you to check if the clutch is getting power.

Let me know what you find.

Ok. So I took it to an automotive shop and I was told I have a "scroll compressor." In addition to that, the compressor exploded and needs to be replaced and possible the condenser if it can't be flushed. Can I replace it with a regular compressor or does it have to be a "scroll compressor?'
