2001 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

It just started suddenly. My vehicle has no problem cranking and starting, it just keep dying unless I have my foot on the brake & gas simultaneously. I've replaced the battery, coil, spark plugs & wires. What could it possibly be? I want to fix the problem.

Hi:
It sounds like a vacuum leak or a sensor problem. The most common sensor to cause this problem is the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). Take it to a natioally recognized parts store and have them scan it for trouble codes. Most stores will do it for free, and it should help identify the problem.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
