2001 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 110 00 miles

hi wanted to know why at idle. Ildes goes up and down and sometimes dies. But after I restart it is ok for awhile then it starts agian up and down. What should I do and what part needs to be replaced. Had scope put on it and everything is good

Try cleaning out the idle air control valve and see what happens if it continues test the throttle position and mass airflow sensors.
