As I'm sure you know, for this model there are wires that come out of the side panelling and connect to the interior of the rear window for the defroster.

A few years ago the connection on the drivers side came loose and has been just hanging down. I am wanting to fix this myself, rather than pay someone to do it.

What do I need to do in order to reconnect this wire to the rear window defroster?

You should be able to just reattach the wire with a new wire fitting.
