Brakes problem
2001 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

MY ABS LIGHT CAME ON AND IT IS STAYING THE COLOR OF THE LIGHT IS ORANGE. WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS LIGHT AND SHOULD I GET IT CHECK OUT RIGHT AWAY. MY BRAKES ARE WORKING GREAT, STOP WITH NO PROBLEM AND THEY ARE NOT MAKING ANY NOISE

Hi Jodie,

You will not notice any problems unless you have to slam on your brakes. What the ABS or Anti-Lock Braking System does is prevent the wheel from locking up when you have to slam on your brakes.

What the Light means is that you have an ABS Sensor or two that has failed, causing the ABS Light to turn on.

You will need to take it in to have the codes read to figure out which sensor has failed. There is no big hurry to do this it will not cause any other problems.
