Transmission problem
2000 Ford Explorer 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 114K miles

Hello,
I have a 2000 Ford Explorer with an intermittent up shift slipping. I looked on some other blogs and discovered a TSB 03-22-10 was published by Ford. However my problem is not constant it is intermittent. Would that same TSB pertain to my vehicle? I need to be sure before I purchase the repair kit.

Thanks
Charley

If the trans fluid is full and clean, that should take care of it.

The filter and fluid are changed on regular intervals, but the problem persists. It has to be something else.

The following things need checked to determine if the TSB is relevant to your problem.

*Low Line Pressure While In Drive
"Â No 3rd Gear
"Â No 2nd And/Or No 3rd Gear
"Â No Engine Braking In Manual 1st.
"Â DTC P0732, P0733 Or P1762

Have any of the items above been experienced or checked? Based on your description, your problem sounds different.

Let me know.
Joe

Hello,
I have checked everything below.
The only problem I am getting is a delay up shift from 1st to 2nd; and this is intermittent.

I don't feel your problem falls under the TSB you mentioned. To me, it sounds like a problem with a shift solenoid.

The solenoid. That would make sense thinking about it. Probably sticking from time to time. Figured it was something smiple I overlooked.
