My abs light stays on and when I push the breakes (I have good breakes) when it goes to stop I can hear a noise or a push (when coming to a stop) like gearing down. But why does my light stay on

The light stays on because the ABS computer has detected a malfunction and has disabled the ABS system on the meantime. You will have to find a shop with the ability to read ABS codes and see where they point you.
