1999 Ford Explorer XLS Rear Axle

How do I check the rear axle level? I see the pumpkin and checked everywhere for a drain plug is it on top if so how do I at home with floor jacks and stand check the fluid

There iis a filler plug on the driveshaft side of the pumpkin. It is unique in that it is removed by inserting the square end of a ratchet extension (3/8th drive) into the plug. When removed gear oil should just tricke out with the car sitiing normally on the level. If not add the proper grade lubricant (see owners manual) until it does trickle out.
